3 Fun At-Home Activities Your Kids Will Love

May 07, 2020

Being stuck at home with the kids can be tough, especially when you aren’t able to visit your local indoor playground to get active and release some pent-up energy from being cooped up inside. If you’re running out of ideas on how to keep your kids engaged while at home, then we’ve got the perfect list of activities for you!

Our short list of DIY activities are simple, and involve everyday household items, so you won’t have to worry about purchasing them online or in-store. Read on to learn more about 3 fun at-home activities your kids are sure to love!

Cardboard City

Most of us have empty cardboard boxes hanging around - whether it’s from a recent move, or leftovers from online orders. Instead of recycling them, cut them up, glue them together, and paint them. Let your children embrace becoming your cardboard city’s newest urban planners. Let their imaginations run wild as they build community centers, indoor playgrounds, libraries, houses, and skyscrapers, all from the comfort of your home.

Drive-In Movie

As the weather gets warmer, take advantage of getting outdoors. Make the most of your backyard space and have a drive-in movie night with your kids, where you can screen their favourite movies. Grab a cardboard box and have your kid design the car of their dreams by attaching wheels, a seat pillow, and a steering wheel. Grab a white bedsheet and a projector to complete your kid’s drive-in movie night.

Build a Fort

One of the best parts about taking your kids to an indoor playground is allowing them to get imaginative and active at the same time. Building a fort at home can offer similar effects, allowing your kid to run around the house looking for “building materials” like pillows, blankets, and other soft items in conjunction with your sofa to build up your fort.
